Household Helpers

I thought I would share some household helpers that I found in one of my favorite magazines this week, all * you. Hmmm, that might be a good excuse to use with the hubby for a subscription.

  • Baby Shampoo - use it to wash makeup brushes. Put a drop on the bristles and lather. Rinse well, then blot with a cloth.
  • Cotton Swabs - place a few in the bottom of your cosmetics bag. They absorb spills and powders, replace frequently.
  • Toothbrush - use an old clean toothbrush to scrape mascara buildup off your eyelash curler.
  • Baby wipes - remove blush, powder, or other kinds of stains on your makeup case with a wipe.
  • Rubbing alcohol - fill a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol and spritz some on an unused cosmetics pad. It will clean makeup residue off lipstick containers, compacts, lip-pencil sharpeners, eye-makeup applicators and other beauty tools.
Look at it this way if you only implement 2 of these tips think of the money you'd spend on replacing your make-up! Although the reason I have to keep replacing mine is the fact that two girls who shall remain nameless (Meghan & Brenna) seem to keep taking mine!
