Feeling young again. . . .

You know have you ever been told that "Kids keep you young". I've been told this numerous times in my young life (ok so I am now closer to the top of the hill than the bottom but I like to be positive instead of negative!). It's funny when you first have your kids all of the "firsts" that you go through. You know what I'm talking about. Crawling, teething, eating, walking, potty training, etc. It's the potty training that was the inspiration for this post. I have an absolute delight and joy in having a 3 year old at this stage in my life. I don't know if it's the fact of the "keeping you young thing" or just the simple fact that having 4 teens I at least still have one at home that listens to everything I say! I absolutly fall in love with my little guy all over again every day. Just the things he says and does throughout his daily walk just amaze and entertain me all in one. I was sitting down the other day reliving some of the moments of my older kids childhood when I think the one thing that goes along with raising kids that DOES NOT keep you young popped into my reality. You know that period in every child's life when most times Mommy can get COMPLETELY exasperated! And if anyone ever tries to tell you that they had a completely enjoyable and pain-free time with their interaction of this part of child rearing RUN!! They are either habitual liars or completely delusional! I'm talking about potty training. I will be the first to admit that out of all of my children my sweet little Adam about threw me under the bus! Just when I thought I was going to have to do some drywall work from putting my head through the wall the idea of potty training clicked. FINALLY! The only thing is that just when I thought my worries were over out came the infamous 4 little words that every mother loves (not really!) to hear. MOMMY!!! Wipe my butt! Gee, I wonder why I've never seen that one on a Hallmark card?!
